Jim and LuAnn Goodyear opened Last Resort Equestrian Center in 2000 where they board horses and host a variety of clinics. Dust could not be tolerated and like so many others in the equestrian field they used water to control the dust in their 80′ x 144′ arena and other facility areas. After years of watering, enough was enough and they began to look for alternative dust control methods. Wanting only the best and cleanest for their arena, they used Arena Rx for the first time in 2004. The results where shocking. Jim and LuAnn would spend ~4 hours a week watering to control dust and now that time consuming and wasteful chore was gone. They followed up their initial Arena Rx application with light maintenance applications when they noticed small amounts of dust returning and have now been dust free since 2004. Jim estimates they have saved over 4100 hours of time by eliminating the watering chore.
In 2010 Jim retired from the Colorado Division of Wildlife as an Assistant Regional Wildlife Manager. That same year he established Good 4 Dirt – Dust and Soil Solutions LLC and became the exclusive distributor for Arena Rx. Having used Arena Rx for years in his own arena, Jim knew it was a product he could proudly represent. In 2018 Jim’s son Hazen Goodyear began to help with Good 4 Dirt and has been involved since.
